5 percent of EU companies have female board chairs: report

The index looked at the largest companies listed on the Stoxx Europe 600 from nine European countries: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom.On average, women made up 33.6 percent of non-executive board members. France was top in this category with women making up 44.2 percent of board members, followed by Italy (36.5 percent) and Germany (30 percent). The Czech Republic had the smallest female representation at 19 percent.
